“Change Happens Before You Know It Happens.”
Two years ago. we found ourselves at the beginning of a global pandemic. The world temporarily closed. The government sent us home from work. We stopped making things for awhile. With a 14% unemployment rate, the economic outlook appeared pretty bleak.
Flash forward to the present, things on the surface might seem to be much more normal than those good old COVID days. But with all we’ve gained economically over the past two years, the payback of the pain to get to this point is starting to really set in. Is this normal?
If you reflect back over your life, you have seen more economic booms and busts that you can recall. Everyday life keeps you busy and you don’t dwell on all that you have experienced. Only when we get to extremes do you jog your memory of what the really good times or bad times were like. It’s just the way we cope.
So, what happens next?
Yes and yes. It is really that simple.
The better question is do you remember what happened last time and how does it affect you? You may have already answered the question several times and have already figured out what changes you are making with out realizing it.
When we contemplate “it is really that bad?”, we are closer to things getting better.
When it rolls, well, it rolls until it doesn’t.
If there is one thing that is for certain, most of us have short memories and think it’s different this time. It’s never different. We just need to look back in our memory to think about what we have already experienced. We already know the answer.
Stay tuned. In the coming weeks, I will attempt to jog your memory and put things into perspective as it pertains to your real estate.
